Where are you going to leave “Stormy”? We are in the yard up at Marina Seca.
Take the bus to Guymas to the Tufesa bus station and catch the bus to Tucson. If you take a late bus you can sleep the whole way but make sure that it is the big bus with the reclining chairs.. The smaller ones are just to uncomfortable and it is difficult to get comfortable.

If you stop at Agua Verde on the way back, it’s a good place to find pin scallops. Look in chest deep water near sand/reef and you’ll see little “tacos” facing up in the sand. Grab, twist, and pull these out and they are the tops of huge cone-shaped bivalves. Break off the pointy end on a rock and you can get a little knife in there and take out a scallop.

That’s so awesome you are spearfishing! The area around Isla Carmen and a bit to the south is off limits to spearfishing, so keep the speargun below decks when you’re in that area. This is the only area I know of that you can’t spearfish. Since you have limited gear (did I give you a spare shaft?), try not to spear down at fish when near rocks, it will dull the point. Good luck, have fun, and eat well!

Are you guys using Sail Mail? Sucks about the watermaker but that will be awesome if you can get it working. At least you’ll have an excuse to stay at anchor longer.
